Sorry, Rihanna! Ed Sheeran changes his mind and keeps song for himself after joking James Blunt was responsible for his sword scar

He’s penned hit songs for a string of celebrities over the years but occasionally Ed Sheeran decides to keep one of the tracks for himself.

Sorry, Rihanna !

Speaking on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, the popstar admitted he wrote new song, Shape Of You, with Rihanna in mind only to do a U-Turn and decide to record it himself.

“This is actually a really random one,” laughed Ed.

“I went in to write songs for other people, and we were writing this song. I said, ‘This will really work for Rihanna’ then I started singing lyrics like, ‘Putting Van the Man on the jukebox’ and I was like, ‘She’s not really going to sing that, is she?’

“We decided halfway through to keep it for me,” he said.

“This came really late, it was the last song that was finished and I just didn’t put two and two together it would even be on the album at all.”
